As usual, life is totally busy. On top of moving into a new apartment, I have also been interning at FCE and have recently learned that I will be working at Walt Disney World! This is all super exciting and I am so happy, however it is clear that my little corner of the internet is suffering. That is why I have decided to cut back on the posting. Most of you know that I have been posting everyday (or was back when I had a routine), but posting every day simply can’t happen right now. A few days a week at most I will post really great articles as oppose to crappy articles everyday! Also, the apartment is almost looking nice (we are still partially living out of boxes), so hopefully soon I will be able to share our new home!
Also, if you follow me on social media, you know that yesterday was my Troy’s birthday! He is in Nashville for work, but we will definitely be celebrating when he gets back!
Anywho, I hope everyone is having a spectacular week! Let me know in the comments what you would like to see in future posts!
As I have mentioned before, I am currently interning at Feeding Children Everywhere. It has only been a few weeks and I am already learning so much (as well as doing my part to end world hunger)!
So what is Feeding Children Everywhere?
Feeding Children Everywhere Is A Social Charity That Empowers And Mobilizes People To Assemble Healthy Meals For Hungry Children. One lentil casserole at a time (our nutritious and delicious meal we package), we are feeding hungry children and changing lives.
Check out their website here and be sure to follow them on social media. The reason I am sharing this with you is because this amazing organization has found such a special place in my heart so quickly!
Happy Wednesday, everyone! For the millionth time, I appreciate everyones patience while I have been moving/figuring out my life. Things have been so busy and crazy, so my beautiful blog had to take the back burner for a few days (more like weeks). But I am back and in rebuilding mode, so watch out for a little bit of change but a whole lot of fun!
Before you ask…NO that isn’t our apartment! Pictures of the new home to come (once I get everything unpacked).
As it pertains to long distance relationships, obviously I am in Orlando and not in Indiana, so we aren’t doing LDR anymore (yay yay yay!!!), however, I still think I have some valuable insight to the world of LDR. The eleven:eleven Diaries won’t focus a whole lot on LDR anymore, but probably a lot of post LDR life and life as a young couple living together. Troy does A LOT of traveling for work, so sometimes it still feels like we are doing long distance, but at least now he has a home to come home to at the end of business trips.
So I ask you, what are some questions you have about life after LDR? Ask me in the comments and I will be sure to address them in future posts! I want to make sure I am answering your questions!!!
I’M BACK! One week away from the blog was exactly what I needed to get this summer started right! Last week was so busy but filled with so many exciting things! Not only did I have an AMAZING orientation week at my internship (more to come soon), Troy and I also moved into our new apartment on Saturday! I’m so excited to show everyone the new apartment and give a virtual grand tour!
Now that things are settling down, I would like to officially announce the transition of this blog from Long Distance Relationship lifestyle to general lifestyle! I will be focusing on school, work, and life as a young couple post LDR! I am so excited to start this new adventure and I am so glad you all get to join me!
Remember to follow on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc! You won’t regret it!
Being back in Orlando feels so amazing, but things also got busy busy busy almost immediately. Troy and I got into Orlando on Saturday night (just in time for Mother’s Day) and spend the following day with our mothers! Today was the first day of my summer internship (more to come on that later), so needless to say that this week is overwhelming.
Another huge thing happening this week is Troy and I will be moving into our apartment! This is super duper exciting, but because of the business of this week, The eleven:eleven Diaries will be taking a little vacation. Everything will be back to normal (at least in the blog world) starting next Monday! In the meantime you should follow on social media (snapchat: maddy_liptak).
Love you all, and thank you for your patience!
When Troy said he could pick me up from school to bring me home, I knew this stop in New Orleans needed to happen. A few weeks ago when I was still just so excited to see him, knowing I was going to be spending like no time with him didn’t seem like a very big deal, but now that we are in New Orleans it is a little bit of a big deal. Exploring New Orleans as a young female who is alone is not easy. It also doesn’t really help that I’m not hugely adventurous by myself.
Day one I decided to go out and find a good cup of coffee in the French Quarter. That was a good and also bad idea. The coffee was lovely and the coffee shop was lovelier, so in that sense I am quite glad I went out to explore. The problem with my solo adventure was simply the fact that I was alone. Not only was it completely lonely (and adventures aren’t as fun with nobody to share it with), but homeless men followed me around and harassed me which scared me back inside for the rest of the day.
The next day I wasn’t feeling nearly as adventurous and decided to stay in until Troy got off work. Luckily he got done at a decent time, leaving enough time for a cup of coffee, gelato, exploring, and a crawfish dinner!
Who knows what todays adventure holds, hopefully something fun! New Orleans is fun, but I’m ready for my Orlando!
As many of you know, Troy and I hit New Orleans for a small stop before heading back home to Orlando. Troy has work in Nola so I decided to tag along to do some solo adventure while he was at work. The last two days were spend driving and we FINALLY got in yesterday afternoon, perfect timing for some coffee and beignets at Café Du Monde. Before getting to New Orleans however, we made a small stop in Nashville. I wish we could have found more time to play around in Nashville, but only having a few hours in the city didn’t stop us from doing what we do best…drinking coffee.
I had THE BEST latte ever at this small coffee shop in Nashville called CREMA. The coffee was so smooth and the atmosphere was amazing. I definitely hope to go to Nashville again, and when I do, no doubt about it I will be at CREMA everyday!
In the timeframe we had it was difficult to do much seeing as how we are both under age. You can’t get in anywhere after 6 in Nashville without being 21. Maybe we will have to try again in a few years.
For more travel adventures follow me on snapchat (maddy_liptak), or on Instagram!
Finally–Any suggestions for food in New Orleans near the warehouse district? Preferably things for lunch time!
We are officially on the road! Yesterday was my very last day at Butler University and it was pretty strange. I spent the day packing up my room and saying all my goodbyes, but it didn’t (and still hasn’t really) hit me yet. I spent two years of my life learning and growing at this University and although I am excited for a new start, there is a special something about this place that will always be in my heart.
Thank you, Butler for giving me some wonderful friends. Without you, I would have never met them. I really did meet some forever friends in college even though I never thought I would.
Thank you, Butler for giving me the opportunity to work with some amazing faculty. Something I never expected was to be surrounded by such amazing educators who honestly cared about not only my education and grades, but about me.
Thank you, Butler for the life experience of living on my own, but with others. For the first time I was thrown into the real world, but you kept me safe.
I really will miss being a bulldog, but I am also so excited for whatever journey life is about to take me on. I think inside I will always be part bulldog. Orlando here I come!!! (But first, I quick stop in New Orleans–Stay tuned!)
Happy May, everyone! I honestly thought April would never end, but here we are! Today is MY LAST EXAM! On top of that, it is my very last day at Butler. Later today Troy and I will be hitting the road for a few days in New Orleans, but then it’s back to Orlando where I belong.
Last month I decided to only focus on one goal, but to be completely honest, I didn’t stick to it very well. April wasn’t a very good month so I am definitely ready for a new month with a new start. May is going to be very busy, but also very exciting. Not even days after I get home I will be starting my internship and not even a week after that we move into our new apartment. All this change will probably be a little stressful, but hopefully amongst all that I can keep to these three goals.
That is vague, but basically I want to cut bad foods out of my diet. No more chips, no more candy, just healthy foods in the house. The way I see it, I can’t eat something that isn’t in the house, so just don’t bring it in the house!
SLOWLY decorate the house
I am so excited to start decorating the new place, but a goal is for me to pace myself. If it was up to me I would go right now and spend hundreds of dollars at Target on completely useless decorations, but I know that is completely unrealistic for the bank account. Calm down, Maddy…it’ll get decorated with time.
Take a deep breath and enjoy togetherness
For two years we have been waiting for this day, and now that it’s finally here I can’t even believe it. I just need to remember now is the time to slow down and be happy. Time to live in the moment!
I am so excited for this month and I’m even more excited to share it with all of you! Sorry April sucked, I promise May will be better!
What are your May goals? Tell me in the comments!
